Many of you pop by say hi and grab your stylish rain gear….however in the excitement of it all, there is often a friend or toy left behind…..We have a wonderful cosy home for them at GumDrops…but we know that Big Bird, the toy car and the rest of their friends would rather be back in your home….so take a look….give us a call (identifying questions may be asked to confirm ownership) and pick them up. A guest came into the store asking for boots to wear in a bog….. now the only knowledge or memories I have of a bog was the Bog of Eternal Stench in the movie the Labyrinth….with a name like that I’d gladly give it a miss. However the fact that we have a bog so close to home piqued my interest, so I Googled Burns Bog. Who would have thought that with the cascading concrete landscape I call home there was such a fabulous ecosystem so close …now it all makes sense as to why the “taller” boots are definitely the boot of choice….. the spring showers have definitely made is a mushy muddy pit… I will definitely be making a trip to Burns Bog this Summer!!!!

When I was approached to support and promote Artists is our Midst, I jumped at the chance. Not only is it a fantastic event in our community…..but it made me also realise that creativity definitely runs in my blood….but painting, you can forget it!!! If its stick people you want then I’m your gal. Anything beyond that….is totally over my head.
Artists in Our Midst is an organization of artists dedicated to promoting the visual arts by creating a network of artist who create exhibitions and other events on the west side of Vancouver, B.C. It is a grassroots organization run by the participating artists. It is the first of such groups in Vancouver.
Every spring, Artists in Our Midst hosts an Art Walk of artist venues and studios that are open to the public. The event begins with Jump Start, an opening night preview exhibition of new works by participating artists, followed by a two-day Art Walk. Read more….

Monday to Friday we will be opening at 11 am…never fear though with such a short season we will be re-adjusting our hours for the CRAZY back to school season…
