I love the saying “learn something new each day”……and that I definitely do……
A guest came into the store asking for boots to wear in a bog….. now the only knowledge or memories I have of a bog was the Bog of Eternal Stench in the movie the Labyrinth….with a name like that I’d gladly give it a miss. However the fact that we have a bog so close to home piqued my interest, so I Googled Burns Bog. I found out that is is a thriving unique ecosystem due to its chemistry, form, flora, fauna and size as one of the world’s largest undeveloped ecosystems in an urban area. Read more….
Who would have thought that with the cascading concrete landscape I call home there was such a fabulous ecosystem so close …now it all makes sense as to why the “taller” boots are definitely the boot of choice….. the spring showers have definitely made is a mushy muddy pit… I will definitely be making a trip to Burns Bog this Summer!!!!
