Another sunny season has passed, and the “dreadful” rain is creeping up. I say “dreadful” because I am speaking on behalf of the last bit of you Vancouverites and other Raincity dwellers who still do not have H to T rain gear. For shame! Being a picky shopaholic myself, the only excuse I could come up with as acceptable was: I still haven’t found the right pair.
Well, some what acceptable. Better than the dog keeps eating mine (are you rubbing peanut butter on them??)
Anyways, with this glorious sunshine I doubt this mysterious breed of non-wellie owning people are even thinking about the slippery slopes that lay ahead. Lucky for them, I am always thinking how to improve my rain boot closet as well as yours. So here are just a few of my favorite styles this fall! Click here to shop and browse more of my fav styles.
The Bog Mckenna, retails for $250. A little steep for a rain boot, right? WRONG. So wrong. The Bog Mckenna is made from a treated leather, which covers their infamous neo-tech upper. In English, they are leather boots that are water proof AND cold temperature rated. In Kathryn-talk: Pure boot glory! So when your husband, or judgmental friend, asks “How could you spend that much on a rain boot?!” Its simple math my friends. 1 pair @$250 – 1 pair of rain boots – 1 pair of leather boots = More shopping money & more room in your closet. Or maybe another pair in brown?
Alright, if you’re scoffing my above attempt to convince you, or are still suffering from price shock: Breathe. I’ll take it down a notch or two (hundred) for you newbies and pinchers. Lace has been a new addition to our wardrobes for the past year, so it’s no exclusion to the rain world. This delicate detail is perfect for the women who still rock a frock in the fall. Eco-friendly, recyclable, cruelty-free, and 100% of materials used during production makes this a steal at only $65. A trendy steal!
Finally, I have a bit of a tease because these are going to be hard to get! Sorry.. But how can I not feature these? It’s rain boot magic. They feel like your favorite knit scarf, they look like the trendiest leopard sweater in your favorite boutique, Oh- but they keep your feet dry! Yup, no big deal. I don’t really understand this wizardry, but I like it. This knit-feel rain boot can be worn slouchy, up high and proud, with skinnies, or with a skirt. Are you one of the lucky travelers of the world? Roll em up and take them with you. Doesn’t even have to be raining. There is always time to show your wild side. Maybe you aren’t so wild.. That’s okay, they are available in a black snake pattern as well.
I really could go off about why I love each pair of our rain boots. But you’ve probably already stopped reading this and are swooping our store. Come babies, we will keep you dry from the rain!
